Rugby league trans-tasman clash – an unmissable event in Hamilton

FMG Stadium Waikato is gearing up to host Kiwis v Kangaroos in the New Zealand Rugby League Pacific Championship Men’s Grand Final on Saturday 4 November.  

The historic crowning of the first champion of the Pacific Championship kicks off at 5pm with curtain raiser game by PDRL Kiwis v PDRL Kiwis A starting at 3pm, making it a family friendly event. 

After a stunning start for New Zealand with a 50-0 win over Samoa, the stakes are high for the remaining teams.  

“The Pacific Championship final will be the ultimate test match as two of the world's best go head-to-head. No other rivalry is filled with as much history and passion as the Kiwis v Kangaroos Trans-Tasman clash.” Said New Zealand Rugby League Chief Executive Greg Peters 

“It’s great we can bring rugby league at the highest level to our communities and whaanau in Hamilton and beyond as FMG Stadium Waikato hosts the game’s pinnacle event. Whether you’re a proud Kiwi, Aussie or just a lover of the game – this atmosphere will be unmissable.” 

Hamilton City Council’s Venues, Tourism, and Events General Manager, Sean Murray, says this event will be popular among rugby league fans.

An opportunity for a signing and photo session with the Kiwis will be at Centre Place Shopping Centre, Hamilton, on Wed 1 Nov from 3.30 – 4.30pm.
